Terms of Use

1. Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use Minimal.

By creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, you are legally permitted to use the app in your country, and you haven't been previously banned from the Service. We may request age verification and will terminate accounts of users found to be under 18.

2. Your Account

Keep your information real and your credentials safe.

• Provide accurate, truthful information
• Keep your login credentials confidential
• You're responsible for everything that happens under your account
• One account per person — no duplicates

If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately.

3. The Vibe Feature

You upload screenshots, our AI reads your taste, and we build a personality grid for your profile.

Minimal's core experience is built around your Vibe — a personality profile generated from your quiz answers and screenshots you upload from your social media feeds. By using this feature, you agree that:

• Our AI will analyse your screenshots to extract personality signals
• The resulting Vibe grid (tiles, labels, scores) will be visible to other users
• Raw screenshots are deleted immediately after processing — only derived data is kept
• You're responsible for making sure your screenshots don't contain other people's personal data, sensitive information, or prohibited content

4. Rules of Conduct

Don't be terrible. Seriously.

You agree not to:

• Harass, abuse, threaten, bully, or stalk anyone
• Use hate speech or discriminate based on any protected characteristic
• Share sexual, explicit, or pornographic content
• Scam, defraud, phish, or solicit money from others
• Impersonate someone else or misrepresent your identity
• Post false or misleading information
• Share other people's private information
• Upload illegal, offensive, or harmful content
• Use Minimal for commercial, promotional, or advertising purposes
• Hack, scrape, reverse-engineer, or use bots on the Service
• Circumvent security or access controls

5. Safety & Real-World Meetings

We don't run background checks. Meeting people is your call and your responsibility.

Minimal does not verify the identity, background, or intentions of any user. Interactions — online or offline — are at your own risk. We encourage you to meet in public places, tell someone you trust, and never share financial or identity information.

6. Your Content

You own what you post. You give us a licence to display it within the app.

You keep ownership of everything you upload — photos, answers, messages, screenshots. By posting content on Minimal, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content for running and improving the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

You're responsible for your content. It must not violate any laws, third-party rights, or these Terms. We can remove content at our discretion.

7. Content Moderation

We use AI and human review to keep things safe.

We may review, flag, or remove content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines. We use a combination of automated systems and human moderators. We reserve the right to:

• Remove content without prior notice
• Suspend or ban accounts
• Cooperate with law enforcement when required
• Report child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to relevant authorities

8. Privacy

Your data is handled according to our Privacy Policy. By using Minimal, you acknowledge you've read it.

9. No Guarantees

We can't promise you matches, dates, or love.

Minimal is a platform for connection. We do not guarantee matches, conversations, relationships, compatibility, or that any user will respond to you. We also can't guarantee that profiles are accurate or genuine.

10. Paid Features

Some features may cost money. Subscriptions auto-renew unless you cancel.

If we offer paid features, subscriptions, or purchases:

• Prices may change with reasonable notice
• Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Cancel through your app store (Apple App Store or Google Play)

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected. See our Regional Addendum for region-specific refund and cancellation rights.

11. Intellectual Property

The app's design, code, features, content, logos, and trademarks belong to Minimal. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service without written permission.

12. Termination

You can leave anytime. We can remove you if you break the rules.

You may delete your account at any time through the app. We may suspend or terminate your account without notice if you violate these Terms, behave harmfully, or create legal risk. After termination, your licence to use the Service ends immediately.

13. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT USER PROFILES ARE ACCURATE.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MINIMAL SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INTERACTIONS WITH OTHER USERS, OR CONTENT POSTED BY OTHERS.

Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or GBP 100 / INR 10,000 (whichever is greater).

This does not affect mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction.

15. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to hold Minimal harmless from claims arising from your use of the Service, your content, your violation of these Terms, or your interactions with other users.

16. Disputes & Governing Law

Try emailing us first. If that doesn't work, local courts apply based on where you live.

We encourage you to contact us at hello@getminimal.app to resolve any dispute informally first.

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka — except where local law grants you the right to bring claims in your own courts (such as in the UK, EEA, or Singapore). Your statutory consumer rights always apply. See our Regional Addendum for region-specific details.

17. Changes

We may update these Terms. For material changes, we'll notify you through the app at least 30 days before they take effect. If you disagree, stop using the Service and delete your account before the effective date.

18. The Rest

• Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest still stands
• Entire agreement: These Terms, our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, Photo Guidelines, and Regional Addendum make up the full agreement
• Assignment: We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger or acquisition. You may not assign them
